Technical
The theatre is fully equipped with lighting, sound and AV equipment. The venue partners with a number of AV suppliers to supplement additional requirements such as radio microphones, larger projection screens or complex vision playback systems. You are also welcome to bring your own production companies for this purpose. Please note that any changes from the standard set-up of theatre equipment may incur additional fees.
Seating Modes
The theatre has a flexible seating capacity from 236 up to 372. The theatre is hired in standard theatre mode and fee applies to increase the capacity to Half or Full lecture mode.

This intimate venue is located near Darling Harbour on the western fringe of Sydney’s CBD, with terrific transport links via train, bus, light rail and road. There is a commercial car park beneath with lift access to the theatre.

Hiring Details
The theatre is fully equipped with lighting, sound and AV equipment and has a dedicated internet service for webcast or video conferencing links. Our experienced in-house technicians will work with you on the day to deliver a smooth event.
The theatre foyer can be used for pre or post event networking with catering packages available from our Darling Quarter restaurant partners.
Our in-house Box Office can manage the ticketing requirements for your event, with customers able to purchase tickets via the web, phone or in person.
The fully accessible ARA Darling Quarter Theatre is part of the award-winning Darling Quarter complex with accolades for building design and sustainability. Set in the thriving and busy precinct with cafés, restaurants, bars, a children’s water park and the Luminous lighting installation located close to the theatre.
ARA Darling Quarter Theatre is managed by Monkey Baa Theatre Company, a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to creating exceptional theatre for young audiences. Monkey Baa presents an annual season of works at the theatre in addition to touring productions nationally and internationally
